Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatrics RN for a night shift role on a combined Peds/Oncology unit requiring PALS and BLS certification.

Details

  • Work on a combined Pediatrics and Oncology unit with 19 total beds (13 pediatric, 6 oncology)
  • Unit staffed with 22 total employees including dedicated peds and oncology nurses, with at least 1 oncology nurse on duty daily
  • Day shift staffing includes 4 RNs, 1 charge RN, 1 RT, and 1 PCT; night shift staffing mirrors this with 4 RNs, 1 charge RN, and 1 RT
  • Patient ratios range from 1:3 to 1:5
  • Uses Alaris pumps and Cerner EMR
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
  • Floating required to PICU and NICU as needed
  • 6 weekend shifts required, including 2 Saturdays

Requirements

  • Active RN license (NC or Compact) required
  • Current BLS and PALS certification required
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required
  • Pediatric hospital experience required
  • Pediatric Oncology experience preferred
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration
  • One professional reference required for consideration
  • No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care to pediatric and oncology patients across a range of acuities
  • 4-hour hospital orientation followed by an 8-hour shift on the floor
  • Scrub color requirement: all navy, all white, or a combination of navy and white for RNs
  • Tobacco use is prohibited across all campus buildings, entrances, and properties, including personal vehicles in designated parking areas
  • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for consideration
  • Detail-oriented and organized personality fit preferred for this unit
