Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN with CA licensure and prior travel experience for a night shift assignment requiring float coverage to PICU/NICU.

Details

  • Primary placement in a Pediatrics unit with floating required to PICU/NICU
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours from 18:45 to 7:15
  • Epic charting system experience required

Requirements

  • Active CA RN license required
  • BLS and PALS certifications required
  • APHON certification preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of Pediatric nursing experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • PICU and NICU float experience preferred
  • Experience with IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood and blood product administration, and peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with pediatric dosage calculations and anti-seizure medication administration
  • Experience with isolation precautions/PPE and wound assessment/care
  • Experience with indwelling urinary catheter insertion and management
  • Experience with oral/nasal suctioning and oxygen delivery systems
  • Experience with Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS) and Rapid Response Team protocols
  • Two supervisor references obtained within the past year required

Additional Information

  • Care settings may include Pediatric MedSurg, Pediatric Oncology, and Pediatric Step Down
  • Holiday coverage includes New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day, with only one holiday request approved per contract
  • Maximum RTO of 7 days per contract
  • Returning employees must have a one-year separation before returning as a traveler
  • Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
