Pediatric Registered Nurse Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in New York
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience, preferably in pediatric nursing
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification
• Strong pediatric assessment, clinical judgment, and family-centered communication skills
• Ability to provide compassionate patient care in a fast-paced pediatric inpatient environment
• Willingness to support neonatal feeder-grower patients as needed

Pediatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients and their families
• Assess and monitor children with conditions such as asthma, pneumonia, RSV, and failure to thrive
• Recognize changes in patient condition and communicate concerns promptly to the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established clinical standards and hospital policies
• Provide age-appropriate education and emotional support to patients, parents, and caregivers
• Collaborate with providers and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized pediatric care plans
• Assist with care for pediatric patients experiencing mental health concerns within the scope of practice
• Float to support neonatal feeder-grower care when operationally required
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and promote a positive, family-friendly patient experience
