Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a night shift assignment requiring Pediatric Hematology/Oncology experience and an active IA or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatrics unit caring for Peds Hem/Onc, Med Surg, and all pediatric specialties
• 14-bed unit with patient ratios of 1:2-4
• Night shift, 7p-7a, 36 hours per week
• Weekend requirement of every third weekend
• On-call responsibilities possible during low census, 2300-0700
• May float to NICU, general pediatric floor, or PICU
• May float to the Pediatric Emergency Department to assist with general pediatric patients boarding in the ED
• Uses Epic EMR system

Requirements

• Active IA RN license or compact/multistate license required
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• PALS certification (AHA) required
• APHON certification preferred
• Pediatric experience within the previous 18 months required
• Hematology/Oncology experience required
• Minimum 24 months of Pediatric and/or Oncology experience required
• Epic EMR experience within the previous 12 months required
• Must be willing to float to the ED to care for inpatient holds
• Driver's License required for consideration
• Professional reference from a supervisor, charge nurse, manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Must have completed at least one travel contract within the previous 18 months; first-time travelers not considered

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care across pediatric specialties including Hematology/Oncology
• Support float coverage across NICU, general pediatric floor, PICU, and Pediatric ED as needed
• Required to work 1-2 of 3 upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day) unless the unit is closed
• Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address
• Past UnityPoint Health employees (FTE or PRN float pool) are ineligible to work travel assignments at other UPH markets within 12 months of separation
