Description

American Traveler is hiring a RN for a Pediatrics Float Pool position requiring 3 years of Level I trauma experience and PALS certification.

Details

• Float Pool position within a hospital setting
• Floats to medical, surgical, medical specialty, hem/onc, and step-down units, and may float to NICU for feeder growers
• Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week, 3 days per week
• Weekends and holidays required

Requirements

• Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board of Nursing or multistate compact/eNLC)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
• Minimum of 3 years Level I trauma experience required
• Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
• Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, techniques, and procedures
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Basic computer skills

Additional Information

• Provides nursing care to patients with health problems ranging from simple to complex
• Assumes responsibility for an assigned group of patients and documents patient responses to nursing interventions
• Assists physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
• Administers medications and monitors IV infusions and blood products
• Communicates care plans and hospital procedures to patients and families
• Delegates tasks to support staff as needed
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
• Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced; onboarding requirements must begin immediately upon offer
• Travelers must be booked at least 4 weeks from time of offer
• Extensions limited to one time for a total of 26 weeks, with a required 6-month separation before reapplying
