Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatrics RN for a Float Pool position requiring 3 years of Level I trauma experience and PALS certification.

Details

  • Float Pool position covering medical, surgical, medical specialty, hem/onc, and step-down units
  • May float to NICU for feeder-grower cases
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours/week)
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State Board or multistate compact eNLC)
  • BLS and PALS certification through the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 3 years Level I trauma experience required
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required, BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Basic computer skills

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to an assigned group of patients with varying acuity levels
  • Document patient responses to interventions and treatments, noting changes in physician orders
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Administer medications and manage IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge planning
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility
  • Only one contract extension allowed, up to a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
  • Compliance documentation must be completed promptly, as start dates will not be pushed
