Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric Telemetry position requiring 2 years of experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

  • Pediatric Telemetry unit in a Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
  • Average patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active RN license (CT or Compact) required prior to start date
  • BLS certification required; PALS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of RN experience required (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
  • Level I Trauma Center and teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Prior charge experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience preferred
  • Skills preferred include IV therapy/phlebotomy, central line and PICC line management, chest tube management, NG tube insertion/management, insulin administration, PEWS/Rapid Response, and on-unit telemetry monitoring
  • 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

  • Provide telemetry monitoring and nursing care to pediatric patients
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required with religious/medical exemptions only
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Local candidates not accepted; candidates within 75 miles of the facility are considered local
  • Former perm staff must be separated for at least 2 years to be considered as a traveler
  • RTO requests greater than 7 days require additional approval
