Description

American Traveler is seeking a Pediatric Telemetry RN for a short-term winter contract at a Level I Trauma Center, requiring 2 years of recent experience and a CT or compact RN license.

Details

• Pediatric Telemetry unit within a short-term acute care, Level I Trauma Center hospital
• Average patient ratio of 1:4
• Night shift, 3x12 hours (19:00-7:00)
• 10-week contract assignment
• Every other weekend required
• Floating within scope required to meet facility needs
• No on-call requirements
• Epic charting system used, experience preferred

Requirements

• Active CT or compact RN license required prior to start date
• BLS certification required; PALS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience required (1.5 years accepted if from a Level I trauma center or large hospital)
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Trauma center experience at a large facility required
• Skills in telemetry monitoring and Pediatric Early Warning Score (PEWS)/Rapid Response Team preferred
• Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, central line care, and wound assessment preferred
• Experience with respiratory care including chest tube management and suctioning preferred
• 1 professional reference required

Additional Information

• Provide telemetry nursing care to pediatric patients on a monitored unit
• Participate in natural disaster or emergency response activities as needed
• Royal blue scrub color required
• Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
• COVID vaccine and booster required with only religious or medical exemptions accepted
• No holiday RTO permitted during this contract
• Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed for this assignment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates not accepted; must reside more than 75 miles from the hospital, though radius restriction is waived for this 10-week assignment
• Previous staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 2 years to return as a traveler
