Job Summary:
Respiratory Therapist (RT) specializing in pediatric care is needed at a healthcare facility in Lafayette, Indiana. This role involves providing advanced respiratory therapy services within the pediatric intensive care unit (PICU) on night shifts. The position offers an opportunity to work with a progressive team in a state-of-the-art hospital environment, serving a diverse patient population with a focus on high-quality care.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: Valid Registered Respiratory Therapist credentials, ACLS, PALS, BLS, NRP certifications, and Level 3 NICU skills. Experience managing ventilators, Bipaps, and high-flow oxygen units, with proficiency in EMR charting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience working in pediatric intensive care units, managing complex respiratory procedures, and possessing a proactive, independent work style.
- Patient Ratios: Approximately 4 to 4.5 staff members per night shift.
- Type of Equipment: Ventilators (PB, Drager V500, Hamilton V60, Oscillators), Bipaps, HHFNC, NITRIC, Bubble CPAP, and related respiratory devices.
- Additional Information: The unit is part of a newly established, technologically advanced hospital. Staff includes long-term, experienced professionals working within a cohesive and family-oriented environment.
