Job Summary:
Pediatric Medical Floor Registered Nurse (RN) position located at a healthcare facility in Aurora, Colorado. This assignment involves providing inpatient nursing care to pediatric patients with diverse medical conditions, including gastrointestinal and endocrine disorders, infections, and behavioral health needs. The role requires delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in a fast-paced pediatric environment.
Job Details:
- Position: RN Medical-Surgical (Pediatrics)
- Assignment Dates: 08/18/2026 to 11/21/2026
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights, 6:45 PM 7:15 AM
- Unit Information: Level Eight Medical Unit with 48 beds, equipped with hard-wired cardiac monitoring and centralized monitoring capabilities
- Patient Population: Pediatric patients with GI disorders, endocrine disorders, bariatric/nutritional issues, infections (including sepsis), minimal surgical post-op/procedure care, some chest tube patients, long-term behavioral health patients with an average length of stay of 4 days
- Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum of 2+ years pediatric experience, preferably in an inpatient pediatric academic medical center
- High-flow nasal cannula experience
- Chest tube management skills
- Scheduling includes every other weekend; no on-call requirement; no holiday requirement unless needed
- Float: Acute care units, Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and North/South campuses; floating within the Denver Metro area and up to 35 miles from the originally assigned facility is possible
- Support & Equipment:
- Respiratory support available 24/7 with respiratory therapists (1 RT per 12-14 patients)
- Equipment includes Medfusion IV Pumps, Baxter Sigma IV Pumps, Kangaroo Feeding Pumps
- Behavioral health support provided by a Behavioral Health Professional on every shift
- Additional Notes:
- Medical and religious exemptions to the seasonal influenza vaccine are permitted
- Floating or reassignments may occur within the clinical competency of the candidate to ensure coverage
