A Pediatric Medical Floor RN (Registered Nurse) position is available for a healthcare professional located in Colorado Springs. This assignment involves working on a pediatrics surgical unit with a focus on patient care for children requiring medical and surgical treatment. The role requires flexibility, fast-paced responsiveness, and the ability to manage multiple patient needs effectively.
Job Details
- Schedule: Nights, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
- Required Qualifications: BSN preferred; two years of pediatric medical-surgical experience required; recent EPIC electronic health record system experience within the last year; licensure/certification including RN licensure, BLS (Basic Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support).
- Preferred Qualifications: Team-oriented attitude, dependable, flexible, and strong communication skills to speak up if unfamiliar with procedures.
- Float: Float rotation may be required across PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit), NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), ED (Emergency Department), and other units to support staffing.
- Additional Information: Fast turnover is expected with ability to admit 12-15 patients per shift, demonstrating quick and efficient patient care. The unit culture emphasizes teamwork, with Resource RN and Charge RN available for assistance. Availability for 2 out of 3 specified holidays is required, with blackout dates from 11/25-11/27, 12/23-12/26. The assignment begins on 09/22/2026 and ends on 12/26/2026, totaling 14 weeks. The clinician must be available to work 2 of 3 holidays and perform four weekend shifts within four weeks.
