Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience
  • BLS and PALS certification required
  • Epic electronic health record (EHR) experience required
  • Experience in pediatric PACU, Phase I PACU, or pediatric ICU strongly preferred
  • Strong clinical skills in blood product administration, ventilated patient care, chest tube management, pain management, and dysrhythmia recognition
  • Ability to complete travel nurse compliance requirements, references, and background review
  • Comfortable caring for pediatric patients from birth through adolescence, with occasional care for older young adults as appropriate

Responsibilities

  • Provide pre-operative and post-operative care to pediatric patients recovering from a wide range of procedures
  • Monitor patients closely in Phase I PACU, supporting airway management, pain control, and safe recovery
  • Assess and respond to pediatric post-op needs including chest tube care, extubation support, dysrhythmia recognition, and emergency interventions as needed
  • Maintain a safe, family-centered environment while delivering excellent bedside nursing care
  • Collaborate with anesthesia, nursing, and interdisciplinary teams to support smooth patient flow and positive outcomes
  • Provide care for patients undergoing complex surgical and specialty procedures across multiple service lines
  • Follow infection prevention, safety, and documentation standards while using Epic for charting
  • Support flexible scheduling needs, including call coverage and holiday rotation
