Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU Float Pool position requiring 3 years of Level I Trauma experience and pediatric trach/hi-flow skills.

Details

  • Float Pool position covering a 34-bed PICU, 25-bed CICU, and 112-bed NICU
  • Floating required to acute care units including surgical, behavioral health, medical specialty (GI, neuro, respiratory), hem/onc, step-down, and cardiac pediatric units
  • May float to NICU but only for feeder-grower, low-acuity patients rather than traditional NICU care
  • Night shift schedule with 12-hour shifts, 4 days per week, 48 hours per week
  • Weekend and holiday coverage required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State or Compact/eNLC)
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association
  • Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
  • 3 years of experience in a Level I Trauma facility required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
  • Experience with tracheostomy care, hi-flow oxygen therapy, and infusion management required
  • Strong knowledge of nursing theory, practices, and techniques
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills

Additional Information

  • Provide direct nursing care to a caseload of pediatric patients across multiple acute care and critical care units
  • Administer medications, monitor IV infusions and blood products, and document patient responses to interventions
  • Assist physicians with examinations and minor diagnostic procedures
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families, including discharge education
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as needed
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible
  • Local candidates will not be considered
  • Returning travelers may only extend once for a total of 26 weeks, followed by a required 6-month separation before reapplying
