Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring current Level 1 PICU experience and an active OH or Compact RN license.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric ICU (PICU) of a children's hospital
  • Night shift schedule, 4x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 7:30
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Floating required to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and Med-Surg units as needed
  • Must be willing to comply with facility float expectations across multiple units
  • Epic charting system required

Requirements

  • Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
  • Current certifications: BLS and PALS required
  • Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required in work history
  • First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience
  • Recent Level 1 trauma center experience required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Previous travel nursing experience required
  • Skilled in respiratory care including ventilator management, ETT/NT suctioning, and tracheostomy care
  • Skilled in IV therapy including central line and PICC line management
  • Skilled in administration of emergency medications including vasopressors and antiarrhythmics
  • Skilled in hemodynamic monitoring and interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
  • Two supervisory or manager-titled references required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients in a Level 1 trauma teaching hospital environment
  • Candidates who worked in a permanent role at the facility within the last 2 years are not eligible
  • Must reside outside a 60-mile radius of the facility as local candidates are not accepted for this position
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application
