Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring Level 1 trauma experience and PALS certification.

Details

  • Work in the Pediatric ICU of a hospital environment
  • CVICU and NICU experience preferred
  • Night shift schedule, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hours per week)
  • 13-week assignment length

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Oklahoma State or Compact/eNLC) currently in hand
  • Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), both issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)
  • Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required
  • Level 1 trauma experience required
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required; BSN preferred
  • Strong knowledge of professional nursing theory, practices, techniques and procedures

Additional Information

  • Assume responsibility for an assigned group of pediatric ICU patients
  • Document patient responses to nursing interventions and prescribed medical treatments
  • Assist physicians in examinations and minor diagnostic procedures and treatments
  • Obtain and monitor physiological data and intervene as necessary
  • Administer medications and initiate, regulate, and monitor IV infusions and blood products
  • Communicate care plans with patients and families throughout hospitalization and at discharge
  • Delegate tasks to support staff as appropriate
  • Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be considered
  • Returning travelers may extend one time for a total of 26 weeks; a 6-month separation is required before reapplying after reaching that limit
  • Compliance deadlines are strictly enforced, and candidates must be booked at least 4 weeks prior to start date
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
