Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Pediatric ICU RN for a 10-week winter coverage assignment requiring a CT or compact RN license and 3+ years of PICU experience.

Details

  • PICU setting within a Level I Trauma Center academic medical center
  • Average patient ratio of 1:2
  • Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00-19:00)
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Must float to other pediatric units (Pediatric ED, NNICU, inpatient departments, Wini 1 psych) as needed, staying within scope of practice
  • Uses Epic for charting

Requirements

  • Active or pending CT RN license (Compact accepted)
  • Current BLS and PALS certification required; ACLS, CRRT, and ECMO certifications preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of PICU experience required
  • Trauma Level I experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required
  • Cardiac critical care experience preferred
  • 1 professional reference required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients, including respiratory, cardiovascular, renal, neurologic, and gastrointestinal care
  • Perform advanced skills such as ventilator management, hemodynamic monitoring, central line care, and management of dysrhythmias
  • Flu vaccine required with no declinations accepted
  • COVID vaccine and booster required, with medical or religious exemptions only
  • No holiday RTO permitted during this assignment
  • Maximum of 5 days RTO allowed during the 10-week contract
  • Radius restrictions waived for this specific 10-week assignment
  • Must start by 12/18/2026
  • Previous perm staff must be gone 2 years before being considered as a traveler
  • First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
