Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Pediatric ICU position requiring an OH or compact RN license and current PICU experience at a Level I trauma teaching hospital.

Details

• PICU setting within a pediatric hospital
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• 13-week assignment length
• Required to float to NICU, CV PICU, ED, stepdown, and medical-surgical units as needed
• Epic charting system required

Requirements

• Active OH State or Compact RN license required in hand
• Current certifications: BLS and PALS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of current PICU experience required
• First-time travelers considered with closer to 3 years of PICU experience and recent Level I trauma experience
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Proficiency in ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, and acute airway maintenance
• Experience with central line care, arterial line management, and blood product administration preferred
• Experience with ICP monitoring and hemodynamic monitoring preferred
• Skilled in ABG interpretation, ETT/NT suctioning, and tracheostomy care
• 2 professional references required, at least one from a supervisor or manager (charge references not accepted)

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in a Level I trauma teaching hospital environment
• Floating to multiple units is a standard expectation for this facility
• Candidates who previously worked in a permanent role at this facility must have at least 2 years since separation
• No local candidates permitted within a 60-mile radius of the facility
• Punctuality is strictly enforced, with tardiness defined as arriving more than 3 minutes late
• No call/no shows are treated seriously and may impact continued assignment eligibility
