Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Pediatric ICU position requiring PALS/BLS certification and a minimum of 2 years PICU experience.

Details

• General Pediatric ICU setting within a teaching hospital
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Patient ratio of 1:2-3
• Blocked scheduling available (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Cerner charting system preferred but not required
• Floating required, including to other units as needed
• Rotating shifts, holiday coverage, and on-call availability required

Requirements

• Active RN license - MO or Compact in hand (no pending licenses accepted)
• Current BLS and PALS certifications required
• TNCC certification preferred but not required
• Minimum 2 years of PICU experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Previous charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience with ventilator management, airway care, and respiratory skills (BiPAP/CPAP, HFNC, ABG interpretation, suctioning, tracheostomy care)
• Experience with arterial line, central line, and PICC line management
• Experience administering blood products, antiarrhythmics, and IV vasopressors
• Pediatric dosage calculation skills required
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to and over 20 lbs
• Ability to work assigned weekends, holidays, and take call as needed

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care in a general Pediatric ICU setting
• Must be able to work in a 24/7 healthcare facility, including during inclement weather
• Will routinely be in contact with patients who may have contagious illnesses
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Candidates residing within 50 miles are not eligible to apply; those residing 51-74 miles away may be offered a local rate
• Maximum RTO of 10 days, with none approved during the first week due to orientation requirements
• 36 or 48 hour contract options available
• Local candidates are not eligible for extension beyond the initial contract
