The role involves collaborative pediatric nursing care for patients with conditions such as spinal fusions, chest tubes, and high-flow oxygen needs.
Job Details
- Schedule: Day shift, 7:00 AM7:00 PM, 12-hour shifts, with a minimum of 36 hours per week; every other weekend is required.
- Required Qualifications: At least 1 year of current pediatric Registered Nurse (RN) experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification; demonstrated comfort caring for patients receiving high-flow oxygen and those with spinal fusions and chest tubes.
- Preferred Qualifications: Prior experience with the Meditech electronic medical record system.
- Additional Information:
- Pediatric step-down care includes spinal fusions, chest tubes, high-flow oxygen, and basic pediatric care.
- Typical patient assignments range from 1:3 for step-down patients to 1:4 for basic-care patients.
- Common procedures include nasogastric tubes, urinary catheters, gastrostomy tubes, peripheral intravenous access, and phlebotomy.
- The care team values collaboration, communication, adaptability, and willingness to support colleagues.
- Schedule requests are considered alongside those of full-time staff to promote flexibility.
- On-site parking is available.
- First-time travelers may be assigned to night shifts initially.
