Shift Time: Start Time: 07:00 PM End Time: 07:00 AM
Shift Type: Night Shift
Duration: 13 Weeks
HIRING PROFILE
- Floating Policy: All travelers are required to float.
- During the interview, please inform the traveler of the Methodist Floating Policy.
- First to float to ED holds or inpatient units as needed.
UNIT SPECIFICS
- Number of Beds: 36 plus 2 trauma rooms
- Patient Ratios: 3:1
- Unit Staffing: Unit clerk, pharmacist, techs, midlevel providers, and physicians
- Equipment: Standard ER equipment specific to pediatric management
- Documentation System: Meditech
- Scheduling Requirements: 3 × 12-hour shifts
- Patient Experience Requirements: High-quality care
CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- BLS
- Crisis Prevention Intervention Training (CPI)
- PALS or ENPC
- TNCC
- Active TX RN License
- Temporary licenses are no longer accepted.
MUST-HAVE REQUIREMENTS
- BLS
- PALS or ENPC
- TNCC
- At least 2 years of ED experience
- Experience working in a pediatric environment
PREFERRED / ADVANCED SKILLS
- Leadership skills – Charge Nurse or Nursing Educator experience
- Experience accessing and performing care/interventions on all pediatric patients
- Meditech experience
PROCEDURES PERFORMED ON UNIT
- IVs
- In-and-out catheterizations
- Medication reconciliation
