Job Summary
Emergency Room Pediatric position providing care for pediatric patients in emergency and related specialty settings. The role includes night shifts, potential rotation across pediatric care areas, and participation in weekend coverage.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Active Iowa or compact/multistate nursing license at submission; pediatric experience within the previous 24 months; pediatric emergency room experience within the previous 15 months, including at least 12 months of pediatric emergency room experience; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA); Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification; valid drivers license documentation.
- Preferred Qualifications: Crisis prevention and de-escalation certification; professional reference, reference check, or performance evaluation from a charge professional, supervisor, nurse manager, director, Chief Nursing Officer, or Chief Operating Officer within the previous 24 months.
- Schedule: Night shifts consisting of 12 hours per shift, a minimum of 36 hours per week, and every fourth weekend.
- Float: Float rotation may be required.
- Additional Information: Patient populations include pediatric hematology/oncology, medical-surgical, and other pediatric specialties. Rotation may include the neonatal intensive care unit, general pediatric floor, and pediatric intensive care unit. The typical patient ratio is one professional to four patients. First-time travelers are accepted.
