Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN for a Magnet-recognized children's hospital, requiring 2+ years of critical care experience and Epic proficiency.

Details

• Float pool position covering PICU and NICU units
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Patient ratio of 1-2:4
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Floating required across pediatric units including PACS, PACM, PIMC, Hem/Onc, PICU, and NICU based on need
• Care spans acute, intermediate, oncology, neonatal, and critical care pediatric populations
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (Standard or Compact), OR license required to be considered
• Current BLS, NRP, and PALS certifications required
• ACLS AHA certification accepted (RQI not accepted)
• 2+ years of pediatric critical care experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I experience preferred
• Skills required include IV therapy/phlebotomy, blood product administration, ventilator management, tracheostomy care, hemodynamic monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, infection control/PPE, medication administration, pediatric dosage calculations, and urinary catheter insertion/management
• ICP monitoring and dysrhythmia management skills preferred
• Must have a valid state license at time of consideration
• Two manager or supervisor references from within the last 24 months required (Charge RN references not accepted)
• COVID vaccination proof required with no exemptions accepted
• Comprehensive lifetime background check conducted; no background or license hits accepted

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing across multiple pediatric units within a Magnet-recognized children's hospital
• Must be available to work at least 2 of the 3 major winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day)
• Candidates may float to affiliate hospitals nearby; refusal to float as requested may result in contract cancellation
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate with no radius restriction
• Former OHSU employees or travelers must have a completed reference from their previous OHSU manager
• Returning staff must have a gap of 6+ months since their last assignment to be eligible
• Requested time off must be submitted upfront and not exceed 2 weeks
