Description
American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool RN with 2+ years of Peds ICU experience for a night shift assignment floating across CVPICU, NICU, and PICU units.
Details
- Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool position in a children's hospital setting
- Floats within scope to all Pediatric units including CVPICU, NICU, and PICU
- Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, 36 hours/week
- Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
- Every other weekend required plus holiday rotation
- Uses Epic EMR
Requirements
- Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license required
- BLS and PALS certifications required (AHA only accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
- ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
- Epic EMR experience required
- Skilled in emergency and anti-seizure medications, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
- Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations
- Experienced in BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilator patient care, acute airway maintenance, and ABG interpretation
- Skilled in chest tube management, IV therapy/phlebotomy, and central/PICC line care
- Experience with ICP monitoring
- Knowledgeable in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Strong infection control practices including isolation precautions and PPE use
- SSN and driver's license required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide critical care nursing to pediatric patients across multiple ICU units based on facility needs
- Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval and is not guaranteed
- Facility may cancel up to one shift every two weeks
- All RTO must be submitted at time of consideration; requests after submission will not be accepted
- First-time travelers considered if they meet required experience
- Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
- Local candidates within 60 miles considered on a case-by-case basis
- Non-local candidates are prioritized over local candidates
- Travelers may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November, peak August-September)
