Description

American Traveler is hiring a Pediatric ICU RN for a night shift float pool position requiring 2 years of Peds ICU experience and SC or Compact RN licensure.

Details

• PICU float pool role within a children's hospital setting
• Pediatric critical care patient population
• Patient ratios of 1:2 or 1:3
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:30 AM), 36 hours/week
• Floats within scope to other pediatric units including CVPICU and NICU as needed
• Required to work every other weekend and rotate holidays
• Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

• Active SC or Multi-State/Compact RN license
• BLS and PALS certification (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum 2 years of Pediatric ICU experience required
• ECMO and CRRT experience preferred
• Skilled in emergency medications, anti-seizure meds, continuous sedation, and IV vasopressors
• Proficient in pediatric dosage calculations
• Experience with BiPAP/CPAP management and care of ventilated patients
• Skilled in airway maintenance and ABG interpretation
• Experience managing chest tubes, central lines, and PICC lines
• ICP monitoring experience required
• Knowledge of dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Infection control and isolation precautions/PPE proficiency
• Social Security card and driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide critical care nursing support to pediatric patients across multiple ICU units
• Block scheduling may be requested but requires manager approval based on unit needs
• First-time travelers considered if they meet the required experience
• Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application for consideration
• Candidates residing within 60 miles are considered local and evaluated on a case-by-case basis
• During hurricane season (June-November), staff may be assigned to emergency response duties
