Required Certifications

License Requirements

• Active Pennsylvania (PA) or Compact RN license required at submission

Clinical Skills and Experience

• PCU/Stepdown/IMC/DOU nursing
• Cardiac telemetry and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Cardiac drips, including amiodarone and diltiazem
• Heparin drip protocols
• BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula
• Central line and PICC line management
• Blood product administration
• CVA, seizures, and thrombolytic agents
• Heart failure, sepsis, respiratory failure, and GI bleeding
• ACS/NSTEMI, atrial fibrillation, and other arrhythmias
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and post-MI care
• Renal failure and hemodialysis management
• Tracheostomy care, wound care, and surgical drains
• Rapid response and code team experience

Important Facility Policies

• Candidates may be submitted to only one WVU Medicine facility at a time.
• Former permanent employees must have been away for at least two years before returning through an agency.
• Travelers who reach one cumulative year across WVU Medicine facilities must take a two-year break before returning.
• Fingerprinting, drug screening, and required labs must be completed within 24–48 hours of signing.
• Demographic paperwork is due within 48 hours of signing.
• Compliance must be cleared by the Wednesday before the start date.
• Approximately one hour of pre-start modules is required.
• The first eight hours of orientation are non-billable.
• Two pre-approved time-off requests are listed.
