Description

American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a PCU/Stepdown position requiring cardiac drip titration experience and a WA or compact RN license.

Details

• Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU/Stepdown) of a Level II Trauma Center and teaching hospital
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00-7:00)
• Patient ratios of 1:4-5
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required between units, with travelers prioritized to float to Tele or MS floors if overstaffed
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required in hand at submission
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum of 1 year of RN experience required
• Cardiac drip titration and management experience required
• Epic charting experience required
• Two supervisory references covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years required
• Response required regarding any prior employment history with a Providence facility

Additional Information

• Manage PCU/stepdown patients including cardiac, renal, neurological, and GI cases
• Perform cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy care is valued
• Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Previous charge nurse and teaching hospital experience preferred
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day), choosing only one of Thanksgiving or Christmas off
• Scrub color for RNs is open (any color)
• No parking fee at this facility
• Former Providence permanent staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50-mile radius
