Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse, Progressive Care Unit – Spokane, WA 99204
Start Date: October 19, 2026
Location: Spokane, Washington
Schedule: Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend required. Patient ratio 1:4-5. 13-week assignment (91 days).
Highlights:
- 629-bed short-term acute care facility with Level II Trauma Center designation
- Teaching hospital environment with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, respiratory services, rapid response teams, and pharmacy
- 42-bed Progressive Care Unit utilizing Epic charting system
- No on-call requirements; free parking provided
- Opportunity to work with diverse patient populations including cardiac, post-catheterization, and medical-surgical patients
- Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
Requirements:
- Active Registered Nurse license (Compact license accepted)
- Minimum 1 year of PCU or stepdown nursing experience required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Epic charting system experience required
- Critical requirement: Demonstrated ability to manage and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Experience with patient ratios of 4-5 patients
- Proficiency in cardiac telemetry, central line management, chest tubes, blood product administration, and dysrhythmia interpretation
- Two professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years
- Willingness to float to telemetry or medical-surgical floors when overstaffed
