Description

American Traveler is hiring a night-shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) role requiring IA or compact licensure and NIHSS certification.

Details

  • Work on a Post Critical PCU unit within a Level 3 Trauma Center
  • Patient ratios of 1:4, up to 1:5
  • Patient population includes CHF, ablation, angiogram, TCAR, EVAR, DKA, stroke, pacemaker, and sepsis cases
  • Night shift, 12-hour shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
  • Every other weekend and holiday required
  • Floating required to the ED and all inpatient areas, including across local campuses within the same discipline
  • No on-call requirements
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active RN license (Iowa or compact) required
  • Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • Skills checklist specific to PCU required
  • Supervisory reference form completed within the last two years required
  • Valid driver's license required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills as part of an interdisciplinary care team
  • Must work 2 of 3 winter holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, New Year's Day)
  • Limited to one day off request during designated holiday blackout periods
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
