Description
American Traveler is hiring a Night Shift RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) position requiring IL licensure, BSN, and at least 1 year of direct PCU experience.
Details
- Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
- Patient population includes cardiac drips, stroke/neuro, trach care, thoracic surgery, IR procedural, and post-op patients
- Night shift, 4x12 hours (19:00-7:30)
- Weekend requirement
- No on-call responsibilities
- 30-minute meal break
- Floating required to 9 BT units plus overflow areas, with rare floating to Delnor (30-minute drive)
Requirements
- Active Illinois RN license in hand required; emergency or pending licenses not accepted
- BLS certification required through AHA; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
- Minimum 1 year of direct PCU experience required
- BSN required
- Telemetry skills required
- Employment history with Northwestern Medicine or any acquired facilities must be disclosed, if applicable
- Two professional references required, with one from a Supervisor, Manager, or Charge RN within the last year
- Skills checklist required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide telemetry-level nursing care to patients with complex cardiac, neuro, and post-surgical needs
- May be required to float to other units or facilities within the health system per manager request
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at the time of application and cannot be added afterward
- Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
- First-time travelers are not specifically required to have travel experience
