PCU Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license required
  • At least 1 year of acute-care registered nursing experience required; Progressive Care Unit experience preferred
  • Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
  • AHA ACLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Basic EKG knowledge and cardiac monitoring experience preferred
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to provide attentive nursing care in a fast-paced environment requiring advanced monitoring and frequent patient assessment

Progressive Care Unit RN Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct nursing care to acutely ill patients with an elevated risk for clinical instability
  • Perform comprehensive nursing assessments and recognize changes in patient condition
  • Provide advanced patient monitoring and implement timely nursing interventions
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards of care
  • Use basic EKG knowledge to support cardiac monitoring and clinical decision-making
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate safe, effective patient care
  • Document patient status, care provided, and responses to treatment accurately
  • Support patient and family education throughout the care experience
