PCU Travel Nurse Job Details

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,130–$2,250
• Location: Corvallis, Oregon
• Healthcare Setting: Acute-care Progressive Care Unit (PCU)

• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, through February 22, 2027
• Schedule: 36 hours per week
• Nursing Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.; every other weekend

Progressive Care Registered Nurse Requirements

• Current, unencumbered Oregon Registered Nurse (RN) license required at submission
• At least 1 year of professional nursing experience required; Progressive Care Unit or PCU experience preferred
• Healthcare Provider BLS certification required
• American Heart Association ACLS certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification required
• Basic EKG knowledge and experience preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Ability to provide safe, compassionate nursing care in a monitored acute-care environment

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to acutely ill patients who are moderately stable but at elevated risk for clinical instability
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and recognize changes in condition promptly
• Use advanced patient monitoring, clinical judgment, and evidence-based nursing interventions to support positive outcomes
• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with established standards and provider orders
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and communicate significant EKG or clinical changes to the appropriate care team
• Collaborate with providers, nurses, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate individualized patient care
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, and recovery needs
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the medical record
