Job Requirements
- At least 1 year of recent PCU, stepdown, or progressive care nursing experience
- Ability to titrate and manage cardiac drips required
- Cardiac and vasoactive drip management experience required
- Active Registered Nurse license in hand, with compact eligibility if applicable
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience documenting in Epic required
- Ability to care for adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced acute care environment
- Strong clinical skills with telemetry, cardiac monitoring, and stepdown patient care
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care for PCU and stepdown patients with cardiac and medical-surgical needs
- Titrate and manage cardiac and vasoactive infusions according to unit standards
- Monitor telemetry, interpret dysrhythmias, and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, pharmacy, and other interdisciplinary partners
- Care for patients with conditions such as CHF, Afib RVR, chest pain rule-out MI, post-cardiac cath, and cardiac drip therapy
- Support safe, efficient patient throughput while maintaining strong attention to detail and quality care
- Float to like units when needed based on staffing needs
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold hospital policies and clinical best practices
