Summit Medical Center – PCU
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 3x12 Nights
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
Contract: 91 weeks

Position Overview
PCU RN position caring for intermediate-acuity patients with cardiac, respiratory, neurological, and post-procedural needs. The unit has a strong teamwork culture and utilizes tech support to assist with patient care.
Requirements
- RN experience in a PCU/Progressive Care setting
- BLS
- ACLS
- Critical thinking skills
- EKG/rhythm interpretation
- Cardiac drip experience
- Insulin drip experience
- Heparin drip experience
- Experience with BiPAP
- Experience with high-flow oxygen and multiple oxygen delivery systems
- Stroke care experience
- Post-cardiac catheterization care
- Tube feeding experience
- NG/Dobhoff tube experience
- Peripheral IV skills
Preferred
- Peritoneal dialysis experience
Unit Information
- Unit 630: 34 beds
- Unit 633: 25 beds
- Patient Ratio: 1:4–1:5 days; 1:5–1:6 nights
- Equipment includes BiPAP, high-flow O2, Vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac/Heparin/insulin drips and wound vacs
- Peritoneal dialysis available
- Meditech documentation
- May float between PCU units or to Med-Surg
- Self-scheduling available
- 4-week scheduling cycles
- Every other weekend required
- Black scrubs required

- Central-line dressing changes
- Wound-vac troubleshooting
