Description

American Traveler is seeking an RN for a Telemetry/Progressive Care Unit position requiring 2 years of acute PCU experience and a KY or compact RN license.

Details

  • Work on a 34-bed telemetry unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 4-5:1
  • Patient population includes pulmonary and sickle cell diagnoses
  • Medication administration includes antibiotics, heparin, and pain management
  • Uses Epic EMR
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45pm-7:15am, three days per week
  • Every other weekend required

Requirements

  • Active RN license (KY or Compact) required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
  • Minimum 2 years of acute inpatient PCU RN experience required
  • Nursing Diploma or Associate's Degree (ASN) required
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Skilled in IV insertion, PCA, CPAP, feeding tubes, wound vac care, dialysis fistula care, cardioversion, and EKGs
  • Telemetry monitoring or titration experience not required

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including assessment, care planning, implementation, and evaluation
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and coordinate patient/family education
  • Delegate tasks to licensed and non-licensed staff and function as a mentor/preceptor
  • Join a newer team known for strong culture and teamwork
  • Participate in quality, safety, and service improvement initiatives
