Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU/IMC unit specializing in liver transplant and surgical care, requiring at least 2 years of experience and Epic charting proficiency.

Details

  • Work in the PCU/IMC unit specializing in liver transplant and surgical patient care
  • Patient ratio of 1:3
  • Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Epic EMR experience required
  • Floating within scope required if needed
  • Locals accepted at the same base rate with no radius restrictions

Requirements

  • Active VA or compact RN license required in hand at time of submittal
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required
  • BLS certification required
  • BSN preferred, diploma or associate degree accepted from accredited (ACEN or CCNE) nursing programs
  • Trauma Level I experience required; Trauma Level II experience preferred
  • Teaching and community hospital experience preferred
  • Epic charting experience required
  • Skilled in IV therapy, central/peripheral line care, and PICC line management preferred
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and ABG interpretation preferred
  • Cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia management experience preferred
  • Experience with renal failure and post-op surgical care preferred
  • 2 professional references (supervisor level or above) required
  • NURSYS or applicable license verification required

Additional Information

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care for liver transplant and surgical/IMC patients
  • Participate in facility-assigned learning modules during orientation week
  • Must complete required orientation modules by end of first week
  • Adheres to VCU's natural nail policy and drug/tobacco-free workplace standards
  • Travelers and former VCU Health employees must wait at least twelve months before returning
  • Time-off requests must be submitted with initial application; no time off granted during first week of assignment
  • First-time travelers considered, with surgical experience highly preferred
  • ER and Psych candidates must complete fingerprinting per Virginia state code prior to starting
  • Facility conducts background checks in accordance with hospital policy
