Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required | Minimum of 2 holidays within contract period

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a 40-bed PCU setting with an average daily census of 24, maintaining a 1:4–5 nurse-to-patient ratio
  • Manage and titrate IV drips including Heparin, Nitroglycerin, Dopamine, Cardizem, Amiodarone, and Insulin
  • Demonstrate competency in Arterial Line management and high-flow oxygen therapy
  • Read and interpret telemetry/cardiac monitor strips independently
  • Care for a diverse adult patient population including cardiac med/surg, dialysis, cancer, vascular, sepsis, respiratory, stroke, post-stent, post-pacer, and renal failure diagnoses
  • Float as needed to MedSurg or ICU (PCU-acuity patients); respond within 30 minutes if called back in from on-call status

Required Qualifications

  • Active RN license in good standing
  • BLS certification required
  • ACLS certification required
  • NIHSS certification required
  • Competency in Arterial Lines required
  • Valid driver's license required at time of submittal
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
  • Artificial nails are prohibited in all patient care areas; compliance is required as a condition of contract
  • Must pass an open-book skills exam (minimum score of 90%) administered during orientation
  • All requested time off (7 days or fewer per 13-week contract) must be disclosed upfront; additional RTO will not be approved

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Prior experience in a PCU, stepdown, or IMC setting
  • Experience caring for culturally diverse patient populations
  • Familiarity with patient experience initiatives including responsiveness and medication communication
  • Strong adaptability, team-oriented mindset, and openness to feedback
