Description

American Traveler is hiring a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) night shift role requiring at least 1 year of telemetry experience and an active OH or compact RN license.

Details

  • PCU setting within a teaching hospital environment
  • Night shift schedule (3x12 hours, 19:00-07:30)
  • 36 hours per week over a 13-week assignment
  • Every other weekend required
  • Floating required within OSU system
  • Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Minimum 1 year of RN experience required
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Must be able to pass a telemetry competency test
  • Experience monitoring telemetry patients required
  • Teaching hospital experience preferred
  • Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Two professional references required, with at least one from a Manager/Director or formal leadership role; Charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response for PCU patients
  • Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, central and peripheral line care, and PICC line management
  • Administer blood products and manage heparin and insulin drip protocols
  • Perform wound care, PCA management, and non-invasive airway/oxygen administration
  • Participate in Rapid Response/Code team activities
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Locals are accepted at the same rate
  • Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility
  • Current OSU employees are ineligible for traveler positions at any OSU hospital location
  • RTO must be submitted with application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly after signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
