Med/Surg Tele RN Job Details
- Start Date: November 16, 2026
- End Date: February 15, 2027
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 12-hour night shifts
- Shift Hours: 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
- Hours per Week: 36
- Patient Ratio: Approximately 1:5 on days, nights, and weekends
- Weekend Requirement: Minimum of 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Float Requirement: Flexibility to float to units within the organization with equivalent or lower acuity
- Orientation: 24 hours
Travel Registered Nurse Job Requirements
- Minimum of 2 years of recent Medical-Surgical/Telemetry nursing experience
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Active Ohio RN license or valid compact RN license in hand at the time of submission
- Current BLS certification
- ACLS, CPI, and NIHSS certifications
- Experience with Epic electronic health records
- Proficiency with IV starts, telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, peripheral and central line care, blood product administration, wound care, and oxygen therapy
- Education from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited nursing program
- Two professional references, including at least one reference from a manager, director, supervisor, or other formal leader
- Strong communication, teamwork, organization, and clinical prioritization skills
- Ability to complete required credentialing and Ohio fingerprinting promptly after acceptance
Medical-Surgical/Telemetry RN Responsibilities
- Provide safe, compassionate, and evidence-based nursing care to Medical-Surgical and Telemetry patients
- Assess patients, develop and implement individualized care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and recognize changes in patient condition, escalating concerns appropriately
- Manage patients requiring IV therapies, non-invasive airway support, feeding tubes, chest tubes, PICC lines, wound vacs, and other medical-surgical interventions
- Administer medications and blood products in accordance with established protocols
- Float between appropriate units as needed while maintaining quality patient care and efficient workflow
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, pharmacy, rehabilitation, radiology, social services, rapid response teams, and other members of the healthcare team
- Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Epic
- Participate in rapid response and code team activities when indicated
- Remain available for weekdays, weekends, and holidays according to the assignment schedule
