POSITION: PCU / PROGRESSIVE CARE UNIT RN – NIGHT SHIFT

• Shift: 3x12 Nights – 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Unit: 5 West – 34-bed General Medical PCU/Stepdown
• Weekend: Rotation required
• Holiday: Rotation required
• Call: No call
• Experience: 2+ years; first-time travelers accepted
• Patient Ratio: PCU ratio 1:5
• Patient Population: Adults; primarily Stroke, Renal, Sepsis, Endocrine, GI & Hematological conditions
• Required Experience: Cardiac Telemetry, PCU/Stepdown, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, PICC/central line care, peripheral IV care, and drip titration
• Required Skills: Cardiac & vasoactive drips, EKG/dysrhythmia interpretation, telemetry, HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, insulin/heparin protocols, chest tubes, wound care
• Certifications:BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• EMR:Epic required
• Floating: Required between Cone Health campuses as needed
• Vaccines: COVID & Flu required; medical/religious exemptions accepted
• EKG Exam: Required; 2 attempts allowed
• RTO: Must be submitted with application; no post-submission RTO
• License: Active license must be in hand at submission
• Local Rule: No candidates within 50 miles
• Orientation: 36 hours
• Modules: 2–4 hours, non-billable
• Travel Experience: Not required
• Charge Experience: Preferred
• Guaranteed Hours: Not specified
