Registered Nurse (RN)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 1 year of experience, with at least 1 year in a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) and a total of 2 years of nursing experience preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in various medical and surgical settings.
- Administer medications and monitor patients’ responses, particularly with titratable drips including diltiazem, amiodarone, heparin, digoxin, Bumex, and Lasix.
- Perform trach care, chest tube management, central line maintenance, and care for post-cath lab patients.
- Conduct assessments and interpret cardiac rhythms, ensuring proper care for patients on BiPAP and high flow oxygen.
- Address the needs of a diverse patient population, including a significant number of Spanish-speaking patients and underserved individuals.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare teams to deliver quality patient care.
Patient Types
- General medical conditions: Diabetes Mellitus II, gastrointestinal and genitourinary issues, COVID-19, pneumonia, altered mental status, transient ischemic attack, acute kidney injury, dehydration, alcohol-related conditions, syncope, chronic kidney disease, sepsis, stroke, pulmonary edema, anemia, shock, hypoxia.
- Cardiac care: Pre/post PCI, congestive heart failure, myocardial infarction, atrial fibrillation with rapid ventricular response, NSTEMI, and chest pain. Familiarity with post-cath lab procedures, particularly TR band management and fresh cath patients requiring frequent checks.
- Oncology patients, with a focus on those with diagnoses such as leukemia and neutropenia. Chemotherapy administration may be required only if specified in requisitions.
Qualifications
- Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) are required.
- Experience must include a solid understanding of cardiac patient management and the ability to measure and interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Comfortable working with high-acuity patients and in a fast-paced environment.
- Compassionate and compassionate care approach is essential, particularly for serving an underserved patient population.
Work Schedule
The role includes a rotating schedule with a requirement of at least two weekends per month. Weekend night shifts will be Friday/Saturday, with Sunday not considered a weekend night.

- The position may require floating to other areas within the scope and capabilities.
- Facility statistics: 226 total beds with 34 beds located on the 2nd East Wing.
