Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Cardiac Telemetry unit. This position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing comprehensive care to patients with cardiac conditions.

Unit Information

• Unit Name: 4 North Cardiac Telemetry
• Number of Beds: 29
• Patient Ratios: 1:4
• Staffing Description: Charge Nurse, Unit Secretary, and Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
• Documentation System: Meditech
• Scheduling Requirements: Must work full-time hours, including 3 weekend shifts per scheduling period.
• Floating Policy: Contract Nurses may be floated to any area where they have demonstrated competency.

Key Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for:

• Administering high-quality nursing care to patients in the cardiac telemetry unit.
• Reading and interpreting EKGs and telemetry strips.
• Providing care for patients post-cardiac procedures, including ablations, cardiac catheterizations, and postoperative care for open-heart surgeries and permanent pacemaker placements.
• Administering and titrating IV medications such as insulin, Cardizem, Cardene, and Amiodarone.
• Performing procedures such as IV insertions, nasogastric tube placement and maintenance, chest tube maintenance, temporary pacemaker care, and Foley catheter insertions.

Qualifications

• Experience: Cardiac Telemetry or PCU/ICU experience is required.
• Certifications Required: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS.

Dress Code

The required uniform consists of navy blue scrubs. Black scrub pants may be worn with a navy blue top.
