- Documentation System: Cerner EMR
- Unit Setting: 10-bed ICU/PCU overflow unit
- Floating: May be required to float
Job Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience required; critical care, PCU, or step-down experience strongly preferred
- Medical ICU experience in a large facility preferred
- Comfort with hemodynamic monitoring and ventilator management
- Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to work collaboratively on a fast-paced healthcare team
- Advanced skills in critical care pharmacology, including IV sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors, preferred
- Ability to manage central lines and support complex patient care needs
- Current BLS and ACLS required
- Ability to wear navy blue or white scrubs
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality nursing care to ICU/PCU overflow patients with varying levels of acuity
- Monitor and interpret hemodynamic data and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition
- Manage ventilated patients and support respiratory and critical care interventions
- Administer and titrate critical care medications, including sedation, paralytics, and vasopressors
- Assist providers with bedside procedures such as chest tube insertion and intubations
- Collaborate with the charge nurse and care team to maintain safe staffing and patient flow
- Perform bedside shift report and support nurse leader rounding as part of unit expectations
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while maintaining strong teamwork and professionalism
