Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PCU position requiring cardiac drip titration skills and continuous telemetry monitoring experience.

Details

• PCU floor caring for neuro/stroke, respiratory, cardiac, and mixed medical patients
• 36-bed unit with an average daily census of 30 and a 1:4 patient ratio
• Continuous telemetry monitoring with titrating cardiac drips required
• Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00-7:30
• Every other weekend required unless otherwise specified
• Floating required within facility and scope of practice as needed
• No call requirements
• Uses Epic, Pyxis, and SBAR systems
• Navy blue scrubs required

Requirements

• Active GA or Compact RN license required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of recent PCU/telemetry experience required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Epic charting experience preferred
• Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, HFNC, and tracheostomy management
• Experience with IV therapy, central and peripheral line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and rapid response/code team involvement
• Experience titrating cardiac drips and managing vasoactive drips
• Experience with insulin drip titration
• Copies of required certifications needed for consideration

Additional Information

• Care for adolescent to geriatric patients with cardiac, neuro, and respiratory conditions on a stepdown/PCU level unit
• Manage patients with CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, and traumatic brain injury diagnoses
• Follow isolation precautions and PPE protocols as needed
• Holiday coverage expected based on number of major holidays falling during the assignment (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Day, New Year's Eve/Day)
• Maximum of 7 days RTO per contract, with blackout dates during Spring Break (April 4th-12th)
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply

• Previous Piedmont employees (perm, per diem, or FCSS) must be separated from all Piedmont facilities for one full year before applying as a traveler
