Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Intermediate Care/Telemetry unit requiring MD or compact RN licensure and prior travel assignment experience.

Details

  • IMC/PCU stepdown unit within a hospital setting
  • Patient ratio of 1:4-5
  • Cardiac and neurological telemetry patient population, including CVA cases
  • Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00-19:30)
  • 36 hours per week
  • 10 weekend shifts required per contract
  • Cerner charting system used
  • Floating required to units of equivalent or lower acuity when census drops

Requirements

  • Active RN license (MD state license or Compact) required
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of recent RN experience within IMC/PCU/DOU/Stepdown or Telemetry setting required
  • At least 1 completed travel assignment required
  • Skilled in interpretation and management of cardiac dysrhythmias
  • Experience with central line, PICC line, and peripheral line care/management
  • Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration
  • Experience with respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP, chest tubes, and oxygen administration
  • Experience with cardiac drip titration and heparin protocols
  • Experience with wound care and isolation precautions
  • Experience managing renal failure and pre/post hemodialysis patients

Additional Information

  • Provide cardiac and telemetry monitoring with rapid response to dysrhythmias
  • Manage patients with CVA, GI, endocrine, cardiovascular, and renal conditions
  • Utilize rapid response/code teams as needed
  • Navy blue and white scrubs required (not provided)
  • Flu vaccine required for all employees at this facility
  • Candidates must reside within 60 miles to be considered for the local rate
  • Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least one year before returning as a traveler
  • RTO must be submitted at time of application, with no RTO permitted during the first two weeks of the assignment
  • No more than 7 days of RTO allowed per 13-week contract
