Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced PCU RN with at least 1 year of experience and Epic charting skills for a night shift progressive care unit role.

Details

• Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting within a hospital
• Patient ratio of 1:5
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM-7:00 AM)
• Weekend requirement of every other weekend or 6 weekend shifts per 6-week period
• No on-call requirements
• Float requirement to other units or sister facilities within the health system
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed

Requirements

• Active FL state or compact RN license required at time of consideration
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Minimum 1 year of PCU/stepdown or related experience required
• Epic charting system experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Two supervisory references (Manager, Supervisor, Charge Nurse, or Director) dated within the past year required for consideration
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (10/31-3/31) with medical or religious exemptions only

Additional Information

• Care for cardiac telemetry, neuro stepdown, and post-surgical patient populations including CVA, TBI, and spinal cord injury cases
• Responsibilities may include cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia management, and use of rapid response/code teams
• Scrubs of any color permitted as long as tops and bottoms match, with no logos or prints
• Free parking available with a decal provided at orientation
• Travel pairs may be accommodated with unit leader approval, though matching schedules are not guaranteed
• Former Health First employees or contracted staff must wait at least one year before returning as a traveler
• Local candidates accepted at the same rate as travel candidates with no radius restriction
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this role
• RTO requests must be submitted at the time of consideration and will be finalized during the interview process
