Description

American Traveler is hiring a Stepdown/PCU RN for a night shift travel assignment requiring 2 years of experience and SC or compact RN licensure.

Details

  • Work in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) on a stepdown/telemetry patient population
  • Patient ratio of 1:4
  • Night shift schedule, 3x12 hours, 7p-7a
  • Weekend requirement of every other weekend
  • No on-call requirements
  • Floating required within scope to sister units/facilities as needed, with agency staff floated first
  • Uses Epic EMR

Requirements

  • Active SC RN license or compact license must be in hand prior to start
  • BLS and ACLS certification required; NIHSS preferred
  • Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience required
  • Prior ICU and/or Stepdown experience preferred
  • Epic EMR experience preferred
  • Driver's license and SSN required for consideration

Additional Information

  • Provide stepdown-level nursing care including cardiac telemetry monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation/management, and rapid response coordination
  • Skilled care may include IV therapy, central/PICC line management, ventilator and tracheostomy care, and post-cardiac procedure monitoring
  • Royal blue scrub color required
  • Holiday rotation required
  • Block scheduling requests may be considered but are not guaranteed
  • During hurricane season (June through November), staff may be assigned to emergency response teams
  • First-time travelers may be accepted depending on the position
  • Previous MUSC perm or PRN staff must be separated from the system for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
  • All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application for consideration
  • Local candidates are not accepted; radius rule of 60 miles applies with non-local candidates prioritized
