General Information

This Progressive Care Unit is equipped with advanced technology including tele-monitoring and post-operative monitoring systems. The unit uses Meditech/CPN as its electronic medical records (EMR) system.

Required Qualifications

• Must Have:
  • Minimum of 1 year of current hospital PCU experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIH certifications
• Preferred:
  • Experience in cardiac care
  • Prior experience with Meditech

Typical Procedures Performed

• Post-operative recovery of surgical patients and those from the catheterization lab
• Post-operative orthopedic patients (spine, joint procedures)

Work Environment

The unit provides a friendly and collaborative culture, ideal for those who thrive in teamwork-oriented environments. Staff consists of a charge nurse, 4-5 RNs, and 2-3 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) during day shifts, with similar staffing ratios at night. There is a modified self-scheduling process, allowing schedules to be planned three weeks in advance to facilitate trading of shifts.
