Description

American Traveler is hiring a Travel RN for a Progressive Care Unit position requiring telemetry interpretation skills and a minimum of 2 years of PCU experience.

Details

  • PCU unit with 11 beds and 20 staff members
  • Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:00 AM
  • 13-week assignment length
  • Patient ratios typically 4:1, up to 5:1 when a tech is available
  • Bedside vital signs monitoring equipment in each room
  • Uses Meditech EMR
  • No on-call requirements
  • May float to Med Surg unit as needed

Requirements

  • Active TX or compact RN license required
  • Minimum 2 years of recent PCU experience required
  • Telemetry interpretation skills required
  • PCU level of care or higher required (Med Surg experience alone not accepted)
  • NIH Stroke Certification required
  • Critical cardiac drip experience preferred
  • Hematoma management post sheath removal experience preferred
  • US SSN and date of birth required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
  • One professional reference required
  • No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months

Additional Information

  • Perform telemetry monitoring and PCU-level patient care including cardiac drip management and post-procedure hematoma monitoring
  • Assist with procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis
  • Team-oriented environment valuing strong communication and customer service skills
  • Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to be eligible for this travel position
