Join a leading acute-care hospital as a Travel RN in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) in Nashville, TN. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where patient care is prioritized. Unit Specifics:

• Number of Beds: 34 in Cost Center 630 and 25 in Cost Center 633
• Patient Ratios: 1:4 to 1:5 on days, 1:5 to 1:6 on nights
• Unit Staffing: 3 techs when full on 630 and 2 techs when full on 633
• Type of Equipment: Bipaps, high flow O2, vapotherm, Alaris pumps, cardiac drips, heparin drips, insulin drips, peritoneal dialysis, wound vacs in conjunction with wound care
• Documentation System: Meditech

Scheduling Requirements:

• Every other weekend requirement for contract
• 3 12-hour shifts a week

Floating Policy: May have to float between PCU units or float to med-surg floors.

Patient Experience Requirements: Hourly rounding on days, every 2-hour rounding on nights, AIDET, and keeping up with communication boards on the 7th floor. Department 633 has TV communication boards.

Hiring Profile Requested Skill Set:

• Must Have: Critical thinking skills, EKG rhythm interpretation, cardiac drip, insulin drip, and heparin drip experience.
• Preferred: Peritoneal dialysis experience and peripheral IV skills.
• Advanced Skills Needed: ACLS, experience with bipaps, high flow O2, and multiple oxygen delivery systems. Experience with stroke and post-cardiac cath care.

Procedures Performed on Unit: Peritoneal dialysis, thoracentesis, paracentesis, chest tube insertions, dobhoff/NG tube insertions, central line dressing changes, troubleshooting wound vacs.

Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS

Dress Code: Black Scrubs

Additional Information: The unit utilizes self-scheduling with schedules created every 4 weeks. Contracts are required to work every other weekend.
