Travel RN PCU
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Travel RN for a position in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) for a 13-week assignment. This role requires a commitment to providing high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Information
The Progressive Care Unit contains:
- Number of Beds: 36
- Staff Composition: 56 RNs and 21 Patient Care Technicians (PCTs)
- Patient Ratios: 4:1 or 5:1
- Equipment: Various medical equipment
- EMR System: Meditech
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, including titrating cardiac medications.
- Perform procedures such as paracentesis and thoracentesis as needed.
- Work collaboratively as part of a healthcare team to ensure optimal patient care.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required.
- Strong critical thinking and EKG interpretation skills.
- Preferred: Experience with titrating cardiac medications.
- Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS.
Personality Fit
The ideal candidate will be team-oriented and possess excellent communication skills.
Work Environment
The position is based in a busy Progressive Care Unit that may require floating to ICU or Med-Surg as needed. The standard dress code is navy blue scrubs.
Assignment Details
- Shift: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Weekly Hours: 36 hours
